Catching up with DJ Tiesto

Dutch trance DJ and producer superstar Tiesto was recently interviewed over at Clubplanet.com. Here are the most memorable parts of this rather hilarious interview:

Not to sound cocky, but when I go to a club, people know who I am and in Los Angeles people know who I am in the club, but to a regular person walking no one knows me and sometimes that’s a good thing. I got to really experience Los Angeles for myself, instead of attracting so many people around me outside of the club.

On his possible acting career:

I was interested in perhaps acting, but after getting to see what goes on, I would rather make music and not have to deal with producers being in control of how you are as an actor. I enjoy my artistic freedom.

He even compares himself to U2:

I know they have been around for 25+ years, but their career has always been developing. You look at them in concert and you can say as an artist that know what they are and that’s what I want in my music, that’s the message I want when I have gotten to that stage.
