New York Nightlife's Sober Hipsters

June 04, 2006  |  By Sotek  |  2 Comments

The New York City underground club scene is "dominated by DJs and promoters who don’t take drugs or drink," the Village Voice reported this week. Well tell me something new...

Characters singled out as role models included Tommie Sunshine, drag promoter Kenny Kenny, Princess Superstar and Larry Tee who suggested drug using performers are missing out "the most fabulous moments of their life".

Tommy Sunshine a role model? If they could only see him when he lived back in Atlanta. Actually, I can understand where he is coming from. If you job is to be out everynight, constant drinking and other things can take their toll.

Exactly. What else can you do when you're handling job like that? Just keep drinking...
