NYC club promoters like the girls young - and drunk

September 24, 2006  |  By Sotek  |  0 Comments

200609_nyc_clubs.jpgIt is a known fact that the club scene in New York City revolves around young, hot girls who, whether or not they're 21 (legal drinking age), are invited into parties and clubs - mostly to attract wealthy male clientele.

Club promoters often create lists of potential young and underage patrons and steer them into clubs with promises of discounted cover charges and bottle service or free-drink tickets. "For the most part, you go after women, because women are going to bring men who are going to spend money," said NYC promoter Eric Soler to NY Post.

After West Chelsea club Spirit being shutdown by NYPD in August, NY Post reports that five more NYC clubs (in Chelsea neighborhood) are in police cross hairs and could be shut down in coming weeks. The top targets are Crobar and Home, considered "problem clubs" for repeatedly serving underage drinkers and allowing drug dealing.
