UK Festival Awards 2006 nominations announced

Back for its third year to celebrate the artists and event organisers that make the UK music festival scene such a vibrant, exciting and vital part of our culture each summer - as voted for by the fans. UK Festival Awards launched in 2004, to heap some long-overdue acknowledgement and praise onto the stars of the UK's world-leading festival scene.

The nominations for the 2006 include Creamfields and Global Gathering both up for the ‘Major Festival’ award, Daft Punk and The Prodigy up for ‘Best Headline Act’ and Bestival, Glade, HI:FI, The SLAM Tent (T in the Park), Lovebox, Mylo, 2ManyDJS and Carl Cox have also received nominations.

Voting ends on Monday, October 16. The winning festivals and artists will be announced on Thursday, October 19 at the Carling Islington Academy in London.
