Liebing's last time "Es ist Freitagaaaaaabend!"

October 05, 2006  |  By Filter27  |  0 Comments

IMG_9798.jpgGerman techno master Chris Liebing can't complain as for the past year his Spinclub imprint became an important supporting pillar of Ibizan club Privilege. In the past months techno regulars like Mauro Picotto, Angel Costa or Sleeparchive appeared along Mr. Liebing.

While successful Spinclub activities are being extended to ex-Ibizan territories, an institution in Chris' motherland gets a dodgy trimming. On November 3rd Chris' prominent "Es ist Freitagaaaaaabend!" slogan (German for: "It's Friday niiiiiiiiiiiiight...") will shake the walls of Frankfurt based U60311 club for a last time after a 7 years lasting residency. Though, as usual Liebing won't miss to make a present to the first 1000 clubbers, a limited copy of one of his bootlegs. "This time a very sexy one, let yourself surprise." he states.

After U60311 offering trance, which is actually not that bad, and Hip Hop, which is in fact quite bad, now an institution epitomising Frankfurt's club culture and electronic music scene leaves the U60311 forever. The management wants to open the club to the general public, which will cause an unambiguous general change to U60311's music offerings. In impulse veteran clubbers set up blogs and petitions against those plans. Let's see if they are successful.
