Following his last year's debut LP Runbox Weathers, Swiss producer Dimitri Grimm, a.k.a Dimlite, now returns with his second full lenght proper entitled This Is Embracing. The album will be released on Sonar Kollektiv.
The A&R folks at Sonar Kollektiv picked up one of Dimlite's demos, A/DD, on which every tune is a shiny boombap dopeness. After its release the record, produced only with an EMU ESI-32 and an Atari, received glorious underground radioplay and spins and charting from well known DJs. The following debut album Runbox Weathers pretty much did the same in 2005 while it added to creating Dimlite’s own niche of beat-science.
Just like his debut LP, This Is Embracing promises to be full of instrumental bliss and downtempo with swirling synths punctuated by deep beats.
Guests on the album include the L.A.-based vocalist Gaby Hernandez, known as a member of Carlos Nino's (Ammon Contact) bandprojects Build An Ark and The Life Force Trio, and a collaboration with Buddy Leeze, a.k.a. Buddy Leroy, from the band 215/TFK.
