Berlin in October; trees are still green, though nature already got ready to drop its green clothes to finally hibernate. The German capital can be quite cold and grey in autumn and winter; 2006 even saw snow and almost artic temperatures from February to mid April.
Understandably, BPitch Control's own Paul Kalkbrenner doesn't fancy such a setting and as every year he escapes to France. Unlike nature, Paul will not hibernate as in Aix-en-Provence he will be working on new remixes and own tracks.
The new year will bring a very new project for Mr. Kalkbrenner as the German movie director Hannes Stöhr recently engaged Paul as score composer and even as an actor for his new film, a documentary of "the basic ingredients of techno, which are sex, drugs, pounding beats and all those ups and downs."
Besides taking influence in the musical and acting way, Kalkbrenner also works on the manuscript to help his character, DJ Ickarus, appear as realistic as possible. Shooting is scheduled to start in April 2007 in Berlin, when the nature will wake up and be green again.
