Israeli & Palestinian DJs plan joint performance in London

November 30, 2006  |  By Sotek  |  1 Comments

2006_11_israeli_pal_djs.jpgAccording to Haaretz.com, Israeli DJ Srulik Einhorn and Palestinian DJ Khalil Kamal are planning put on a joint performance titled "Bridge Of Peace" in London on December 21, 2006. The event is being organized by Einhorn himself, along with the World Zionist Organization.

Einhorn and Khalil have performed together in the past, along with Jordanian DJ Kalis, at the Ha'Oman 17 Club in Jerusalem, despite initial attempts by the Interior Ministry to block Kalis's entry into Israel. At the london event, both Srulik and Khalil will play Arabic music with modern adaptations, and will be accompanied by Einhorn's artistic manager, Guy Asif.

"I don't think the cooperation between us will dramatically affect prospects for peace in the Middle East, but we really enjoy performing together, and this allows the crowd to see that cooperation and coexistence between Israelis and Palestinians is possible," said Einhorn.

KJ Khalil has pulled out of this event. He was not aware it was being run by the World Zionist Organization -- an organization that certainly doesn't push for peace nor equality.
