GU 030: Paris - Nick Warren

December 14, 2006  |  By Sotek  |  9 Comments

200701_gu030_nick_warren_paris.jpgBritish DJ and producer Nick Warren is set to release “Paris,” his 7th mix CD in the popular Global Underground series early next year.

Warren's choice of Paris to inspire his latest GU album seemed pretty obvious: "I've always gone for the cities that aren't really known as clubland capitals. Paris is the same really. It gives it a bit more of an edge and it means I really have to work at it," says Warren.

Presented on two CDs (as usual), the mix is inspired by his late October '06 DJ set at Mix Club.

The first CD shows more downbeat side of Warren: an atmospheric, colorfully melodic set - the kind of material Warren handles very well - dreamy, pretty, understated and cool, featuring music from the likes of Joey Fehrenbach, Tripswitch and Justin Robertson.

CD 2 is the actual party happening: a club mix filled with ruthless, contemporary and groovy tracks, featuring producers such as Pole Folder, Eelke Kleijn, Blue Fountain and August.

that tracklist is FAR from accurate

I guess that's just GU marketing strategy, so that way people will talk about it even more.

so what is the tracklist then?

The tracklist is correct (not a fake!), although, there's a few inaccuracies that have not been (officially) corrected yet (track 5 on CD 2).

I don't know where this site got it's info but the Paris release will not be in February. It will be GU 030 : Taipei (Dubfire). Later in 07 Paris will be released as 031. (Check the GU website, it's where I get my info)

Kyle: The "info" is based on an official GU press release.

And for the record: There's NO OFFICIAL INFO on GU's website yet (or am I blind?). I bet you're getting your info on GU forums (please!).

I dont know where ANY of you are getting your information... GU 30 will be the long-awaited GU30: Baghdad. Sources say its gonna be one hell of an album with a tracklist thats full of bombs!!! Har har... !!!

About this G.U. info. Is totally real.
The promo-copy is out now obviously for the usual DJs only. And you can find the pre-order @ amazon.co.uk
