Recognized as a key recording of 2003 by UK's Wire magazine, Tim Hecker's "Radio Amor" was recently picked up by Montreal's Alien8 Recordings in order to maintain the availability of the work of one of the label’s most important artists. The LP has been out of print for nearly two years despite his growing popularity and reception of last year's "Harmony In Ultraviolet," the follow-up to 2004's LP "Mirages."
Originally released in 2003 on Mille Plateaux and considered one of the most important releases in Hecker's discography, "Radio Amor" is an ultimate ambient journey full of soft synths, bleeps and gentle crunches.
Since 1996, Tim Hecker has produced a range of audio works for labels such as Mille Plateaux, Kranky, Force Inc., Staalplaat, and Fat Cat. His works have been described as "structured ambient", "tectonic color plates" and "cathedral electronic music". More to the point, he has focused on exploring the intersection of noise, dissonance and melody, fostering an approach to songcraft which is both physical and emotive.
