- Three years after the appearance of his acclaimed and award-winning label, Buzzin' Fly Records, Ben Watt announces the launch of a new sister imprint, Strange Feeling Records. The new label will be a home to alt-indie and electronic pop.
- Berlin based label of electronic pranksters, rappers and croonners, Kitty-Yo will stop releasing CDs. Due to financial and business reasons the label is offering their releases as digital downloads only from now on.
- Napster announced the acquisition of AOL Music's subscription service MusicNow. Any current MusicNow users will be able to transition to Napster, but keep their accounts, as AOL plans to move all 350,000 accounts to the new service over the next 60 days.
- MTV's URGE network has inked a deal to release exclusive goods from legendary techno label Planet E, as well as Paris-based Ed Banger Records.
