Badun to release self-titled debut LP

February 8, 2007  |  By Sotek  |  0 Comments

200702_badun_lp.jpgDanish electronica/jazz formation Badun will release its first, self-titled LP on Rump Recordings in April.

Despite this being their debut album, the band has quite a few years on its back as well as a long line of live gigs, including appearances on festivals such as Roskilde in Denmark and Norberg in Sweden.

The group makes clear references to Weather Report, Bitches Brew-era Miles Davis, the electronic duo Flanger (Burnt Friedman and Atom Heart) as well as Japanese artists like Sora. With the light melancholic tone the album sees Badun integrating its influences with its own sounds and ideas.

Badun's adventurous and narrative music is the product of three people (Oliver Duckert, Aske Krammer & Brian Møller) - all from very different musical backgrounds. The group was formed 2001 with the ambition to create a new musical genre somewhere in between abstract digital sound design, non-repetitive electronica and the free spirit of 1970's fusion jazz.
