Linkage: Microsoft PlayReady, Steve Porter, Gabriel Ananda, RIAA, Still Music

- Microsoft has launched a new DRM system at the 3GSM World Congress in Barcelona on Monday. Microsoft PlayReady will allow users to use commercial content on multiple different devices for a single fee. It will allow users to share protected pieces of content between mobile phones, PCs and other devices. [via ZDNet]

- US DJ and producer Steve Porter has been asked to deliver his debut Essential Mix for BBC Radio 1. It will be aired on April 29, 2007. Stay tuned!

- In March 2007, Cologne-based minimal techno heavy weight, Gabriel Ananda, will release his second artist album titled "Bambusbeats." Ananda has now put one of the album's tracks," Lamakova", up for free download.

- RIAA plans on launching a "website with information about the copyright lawsuits that should facilitate early settlement," to be located at P2PLawsuits.com, which the RIAA's Jonathan Lamy registered on January 23, 2007. [via ListeningPost]

- Chicago dance label Still Music, founded by Groove Distribution employee and club DJ Jerome Derradji, has announced a new division called Past Due, which will explore the roots of underground dance music. [via XLR8R]
