British genre-defining artist and producer Toby Marks, aka Banco De Gaia, will be making a quick stop in the U.S. at the end of March. He has three U.S. dates lined up:
03-24: Portland, OR / The Earthlight (1618 N. Vancouver)
04-01: Seattle, WA / Chop Suey
04-06: Anchorage, AK / Chilkoot Charlie's
Gaia's sound could be described as a mixture of exotic beats, tantalizing vocals with haunting, ancient instrumentation and futuristic sounds. He often uses layered Arabic and Middle Eastern samples against a bass-heavy reggae, rock, even trance rhythms.
