Linkage: Vinylmania, Lily Allen, Guy Gerber, Thrive Music

March 20, 2007  |  By Sotek  |  0 Comments

- New York's legendary West Village record shop Vinylmania, the latest of casualities in one of the many neighborhoods where long time businesses are being priced out, has closed. The shop first opened in 1978, and has since become an integral part of the NYC music community. [via NY1]

- EQ Magazine caught up with Israeli DJ and producer Guy Gerber to talk about his forthcoming debut artist album (out on Cocoon Recordings in April), his new label Supplement Facts, and more.

- British songstress Lily Allen discovered the best way for artists to increase their chances of being featured on iTunes music store: offering exclusive, Apple-only content. "They won't advertise your album unless you give them extra material," she says. [via MacWorld, WSJ]

- Longtime DJ at L.A.'s KBIG, Isaiah Martin was just hired as head of A&R for Los Angeles-based Thrive Music, one of the largest dance-centric labels in the U.S. [via Danceblogga]
