5 Years of Get Physical

Berlin-based label Get Physical Music doesn't need a long introduction. Backed by a collective of six people (Booka Shade, M.A.N.D.Y., DJ T and Peter Hayo), each of whom had a long-standing career in music industry, the label has introduced a string of groundbreaking releases over the five years of its existence.

It has taken Get Physical just four years to become one of the strongest brands of the international club scene. Both the in-house DJ mix series Body Language (the most recent one, Vol. 4, was mixed by Dixon) and a string of double vinyl compilations called Full Body Workout constantly introduce new beats and sounds by up-and-coming as well as established artists.

Now, five years in, the time has come to celebrate. Just like any other label - with a compilation.

Simply titled 5 Years of Get Physical, the compilation will be released on double-CD, with the first disc featuring thirteen exclusive remixes of some of the biggest GPM tracks to date. Reinterpretations were provided by Moby, London-based outfit Hot Chip, The Rapture, Henrik Schwarz, Lopazz, and Herbert amongst others.

The second CD contains 11 exclusive cuts, featuring material from Booka Shade, Williams, Riton, Audiofly, Chelonis R. Jones, Jona and Elektrochemie (a collaboration between Thomas Schumacher, Stephan Bodzin & Caitlin Devlin).
