Paul van Dyk to release In Between

German trance DJ and producer Paul van Dyk returns with his fifth studio album, In Between, out mid-August through Mute Records.

In Between follows his Grammy-nominated longplayer Reflections (2003) and promises to be his "most personal" and "strongest" album to date.

"This album is very different from what I’ve done in the past," van Dyk says. "All the tracks on the album have their own story," he tells Frequency Magazine. "The album is called 'In Between' because I think we are in between somehow. Everything I see is inspiring somehow, and it ends up in my music."

But fans of van Dyk's classic 4/4 beats, catchy basslines and melodic synths will be disappointed as the new LP is probably his most commercial release to date.

The album features collaborations with David Byrne of the Talking Heads, vocalist Jessica Sutta of the Pussycat Dolls, Ashley Tomberlin, Alex M.O.R.P.H, Lo Fi Sugar, Rea Garvey, Ryan Merchant and Wayne Jackson.

The first single, "White Lies," will be released July 31st.
