Ian Brown & Sinead O'Connor collaborate on 'Illegal Attacks'

August 27, 2007  |  By Sotek  |  1 Comments

Ian Brown, ex singer of the landmark British rock group Stone Roses, has collaborated with Sinead O'Connor on his new single, "Illegal Attacks," which launched as a Stop the War exclusive.

"Illegal Attacks" explores the Iraqi and Afganistan wars and sends a powerful message how corrupted and hypocritical the world is right now. The accompanying video, directed by Colin O'Toole, was shot in London and tells the sad story of a young British man who enlists in the army and is sent to war.

But the actual lyrics are even more, well, controversial:

"So what the fuck is this UK, Going in with the US of A in Iraq and Iran and Afghanistan. There's hardly a day goes by, How many sons have to die? [...] These are illegal attacks. It’s contracts for contacts. So bring the soldiers back..."

"Illegal Attacks" will be released September 17th and is the first single from Brown’s forthcoming 5th artist album The World Is Yours, which will be released the week after.

The World Is Yours tracklist:

01. The World Is Yours
02. On Track
03. Sister Rose
04. Save us
05. Eternal Flame
06. The Feeding Of The 5000
07. Street Children
08. Some Folks Are Hollow
09. Goodbye To The Broken
10. Me and You Forever
11. Illegal Attacks
12. The World Is Yours (Reprise)
