- Legendary Italian tenor Luciano Pavarotti, whose unique, pristine voice and charisma brought opera to the masses, died of cancer on Thursday aged 71. R.I.P.

- Textura.org has a great interview with dub techno producers Rod Modell and Stephen Hitchell. The duo have recently released four 12-inch volumes of The Coldest Season and a corresponding full-length under the ‘Deepchord presents: Echospace' guise.

- British CD & vinyl outlet Juno Records has now a branch in Germany due to high vinyl sales in DE.

- Felix Da Housecat’s new album Virgo Blaktro and the Movie Disco will be realeased October 2nd, and features the new single "Something 4 Porno".

- Codswallop has a list of 101 tools that will allow you to convert just about anything - from old and audio tapes and vinyl, to CDs, video, images and more.

- Richie Hawtin's 1996 minimal series Concept 1 gets a re-release this month backed by a second CD of Thomas Brinkmann remixes.

Rest in Peace Luciano. One of the greatest in classic music. Nobody else than you was able to sing Puccini's "Nessun Dorma" that powerful and thrilling.
