- The Los Angeles Times reports that the current dance music scene embraces a new strain of disco along with a rock attitude, led by acts such as Justice, LCD Soundsystem and The Klaxons. Margaret Wappler writes: "'Nu rave' might be a farce, but it hints at something bigger - a thriving dance-music scene that has spawned several mutations."
- Speaking of Justice: The French duo has been chosen to compile and mix the next installment of Fabriclive mix series for the London-based Fabric imprint. Release date and additional info on Fabriclive.37 are yet to be announced.
- Talk about "nu rave" explosion: LCD Soundsystem's James Murphy and his studio pal, drummer Pat Mahoney are mixing Fabriclive.36.
- BPitch Control label boss Ellen Allien has a new single in the pipeline. "Go" is due October 22nd.
- Slate thinks that the music of the future finally arrived. In an article entitled "The Second Coming Of Electronica," writer Hua Hsu reports that "Electronica is one of the stranger genres of our time, mostly because nobody is quite sure why it exists." Really!?
