Purebuttons.com, LLC — a Richfield, OH based media company — has purchased the new Radiohead album, In Rainbows, for USD $1,000.00 in support of Radiohead's "silent" effort to revolutionize the music industry, as we know it.
The company issued a press release stating that "Purebuttons.com, LLC answers Radiohead's question, 'How much is music worth?'":
"We feel this is a statement to the music industry that change is required, if not already imminent. We support the bands in their efforts to change everyone's viewpoints on music purchasing, and that it should be possible for bands to make what is rightfully due to them. [...] Entertainment as a whole is invaluable. If your choice of entertainment is not supported, it will eventually no longer exist..."
Good for Radiohead. Even better for the company (yes, marketing).
I thought you couldn't buy it for more than £99.99?

@Jacob: The company apparently purchased multiple downloads and box sets to match the 1K:

Great marketing strategy, however, I still think its shady.
