As many of you have already noticed, starting today, January 24th, all the MP3's available for download on Filter27 that are hosted on Divshare file sharing service are not available (or won't be shortly). Well.. DivShare has instituted some new and rather unfortunate storage space and bandwidth limitations and our monthly transfer for January has exceeded almost five twelve times the allowed limit.
Yup, they've got our balls in a juice maker...
The files won't be available for the rest of this month, so please bare with us. We'll try to come up with some alternative solution as soon as possible, including uploads to other services and possibly subscribing to DivShare's extended monthly plan. Peace out.
Update: We just received a "kind" reminder from DivShare:
Thanks for using DivShare. This is a reminder that you've used 100% of your account's monthly download allowance. Your download tracking will renew on Feb. 16, 2008. Until then, your files will remain online, but no one will be able to view embedded media or start a new download.
W00t.
have you guys looked into Amazon S3? I don't know what they compare to DivShare, but S3 has gotten alot of press lately as being the goto space for file hosting / sharing.

Not to come off as a spammer, but I thought the link was worth sharing.
@Vergel: Thanks for the tip. I looked at the prices and it seems pretty cheap. However, when you calculate requests and bandwidth costs for 1-2 TB each month - it's too expensive. Currently I get 1 TB of bandwidth and 100 GB of HDD space for $20 at Media Temple, so maybe should just subscribe for additional hosting plan via MT and use it just to store MP3s. That seems like a reasonable and well-priced option right now.
Now I understand why ol' Ben has that look on his face or maybe he had wooden teeth too. MnM
