Simon Reynolds re-issues Energy Flash a.k.a. Generation Ecstasy

January 16, 2008  |  By Sotek  |  0 Comments

200801-energy-flash.jpg Notable English author, historian and influential music critic Simon Reynolds has announced he'll be expanding and re-issuing his legendary book, Energy Flash: A Journey Through Rave Music and Dance Culture (the book goes by the title Generation Ecstasy: Into the World of Techno and Rave Culture in the U.S.), to include more recent take on the history of electronic music and related events.

According to Reynolds, the updated and expanded 2008 edition of Energy Flash contains substantial new material on dance music developments in the ten years since its original publication in 1998, offering well-researched reporting and opinion in the style of his acclaimed postpunk history momoir Rip It Up and Start Again.

The book is out late February (in paperback) and will be available in the U.K. only. You can pre-order it here. No official info yet as to whether or not a U.S. edition will be published.
