I wouldn't call it hype or anything like that. I've been a big fan of Edwards' (often very repetitive) output for a long time. He's one of the best and most consistent producers out there. He sucks as a DJ, but as a producer - he's the man.

Really you think he sucks as a DJ? Ive had only good experiences when seeing him spin and i must of seen him at least 6 or 7 times.
I agree his sets are very repetetive, but its the journey that he takes you on that puts the is the jewl in his crown when it comes to building a set.
His essential mix was superb i thought.
I'm looking forward to checking these new remixes out too.Im a slave to the vibe!!!

I saw him a month or two ago in Leeds, and was pretty bored by it all. I think it would depend on where he was playing though - I can imagine him being awesome in some small dark basement with everyone locked into the groove, but where I saw him (Space) is a kinda "nice" venue and a bit too big and posey for Edwards' hypnotic shizzle to work its magic.

But I think he's a great producer, ever so repetitive but that's the magic. The older stuff was awesome (Len Faki, Deer in the Headlights, Kissogram), but so is the newer Panorama Garage stuff - so stripped down, fuck all melody, barely changing for 10 minutes but it just sounds so right. His mix of Sasha is a monster, as is his mix of Space (I just noticed that every other two kicks have a slightly different sound than the first two, gives it a real swing). Can't wait to hear the Humate mix, one of my fave tracks ever, and it's about due to a rerelease I think!

So yeah, shame I was disappointed by his DJ set - next time I'll make sure it's somewhere small
