Here’s a quick rundown of mixes I’ve been enjoying recently:
Rrose (Sandwell District) – Electronique.it Podcast 153
The mysterious Sandwell District producer Rrose supplies a podcast for Electronique featuring tracks from Miles, Joey Beltram, Conforce, Jeff Mills, and many others. There’s also an unreleased mix of his/her own track “Waterfall” featured towards the end of the mix.
Unseen Selectors – Graphite North Mix Volume 010
Four words: jaw on the floor. Epic, dark, spooky, violent. Demdike Stare, Haxan Cloak, Ekoplekz, Forest Swords, etc. This podcast series consistently delivers the goods.
Tropic of Cancer: Her Will Mixtape by Camella Lobo

Marc Houle’s Synth Pop Mix by Marchoule

Here’s an exclusive podcast mix from Tim Hecker for XLR8R Magazine for your listening pleasure. It appeared on XLR8R website yesterday and mysteriously vanished just a few hours later. As far as the mix goes, it is truly a marathon session, clocking in at nearly 10 hours.
Some info on the mix from the original blog post:
What a brilliant idea it would be to have the Canadian noisemaker share with us a mix of even more glacial and angelic soundscapes–maybe a nice collection of his unreleased or back-catalogued material along with a handful of tracks that resonate within him as an artist. Well, in hindsight, maybe we were a bit naive to think Hecker would turn in the customary assemblage of tracks one figures to hear, as he has instead delivered an extremely long (not exaggerating at all here) mix, which is as unexpected as it is intriguing.
Download it here or via direct download here (~1.4GB MP3, save as..). Please DO NOT share the direct download link, thanks!

Update: The original XLR8R blog post is back online.
To be honest, I’ve been so busy with work lately that I haven’t bought or listened to any new records in over a month. However, here’s a couple of mixes I’ve been enjoying recently.
Antworth Kirk & Demdike Stare – Dublab: Live Thursday Transmission (2011-06-02)
Another beautiful showcase of rare and obscure sounds, expertly curated by the mighty Antworth Kirk & Demdike Stare. Those guys truly never fail to impress me with their blend of obscurity and vintage electronics. Definitely a keeper.
Conforce – LWE Podcast 87
One of the hottest producers of 2011 delivers a bangin’ mix for the LWE guys.
DeepChord – DJB.157
Nice blend of deep and dubbed out techno courtesy of Rod Modell, aka Deepchord. The mix also features a track from his forthcoming LP on Soma Recordings. I can’t wait!

The good folks over at FACT Magazine are dropping podcasts literally on daily basis, but they sure killed it with this fantastic mix by Autechre. I’ve been playing it a lot since it came out early last year… and yes, it’s a keeper.

Here’s a proper late night sonic trip courtesy of Demdike Stare (aka Sean Canty and Miles Whittaker) recorded exclusively for Self-Titled Magazine‘s “Needle Exchange” podcast series. This British duo never fails to amaze me with their excellent and always inspiring choice of rare and obscure records.
In related news, the duo’s new 3xCD box set, Triptych, is out now on Modern Love.
