Chicago-based DJ and producer Tevo Howard has been on my watch for quite some time now, putting out some of the most beautiful records of late. His Everyday House Music 12" on Beautiful Granville Records from last year remains one of my favorite releases of 2009 and his recent 2x12" on Hour House Is Your Rush Records is also well worth checking out. Top stuff!

Another superb record from Shed (aka René Pawlowitz) under his Wax moniker is out now and available on both vinyl and digital. Honestly, this guy can do no wrong. The A side is one of the best tracks I've heard this year so far. Massive!

M.I.A has unveiled the official video to her brand new track "Born Free" yesterday. Directed by Romain Gavras — famed for his music videos for the likes of Justice, Simian Mobile Disco and DJ Mehdi — the video contains graphic violence and nudity. Obviously, the video is NSFW.
"Born Free," which samples the track "Ghost Rider" by the legendary New York band Suicide, will be on M.I.A's third and yet untitled album out June 29.
Just a quick heads up for all deep techno fans: Peter Van Hoesen's debut artist album Entropic City is out now on Time To Express and available for purchase (both CD and digital) from Bandcamp. Recommended!

Fantastic news from the 808 State camp:
The original lineup of 808 State is set to reunite, according to co-founder Gerald Simpson. More than 20 years after the group's debut, Simpson and Graham Massey reportedly plan to return to their acid-house roots for a tour and even new recordings. Simpson, better known as jungle legend A Guy Called Gerald, reportedly revealed his plans in an interview at London's Red Bull Music Academy.
Hopefully, this isn't just a rumor. Quadrastate is one of my all time favorite albums so I can't wait what they'll come up with next. Fingers crossed...

Here's a killer remix of the new Hot Chip single, "One Life Stand," courtesy of Carl Craig. For those who don't know, "PCP" stands for Paperclip People, one of Craig's most famous alter-egos. Out later this month on Parlohone/EMI.

Demdike Stare (aka Miles Whittaker & Sean Canty) have just released a limited edition mix CD, Osmosis, using obscure source material from fragmented dub, world music and early electronica to jazz, drones and beyond. The mix (recorded as single 59 minute track, no tracklisting provided) is sure to blow your mind if you're a fan of genre-defying obscurity and early electronics. Just like the duo's 2009 debut LP, Symbiosis, Osmosis comes very highly recommended. I simply can't get enough of it!
